So! I'm in
Dublin right now staying with the sisters here...I sent sister Fisher home this
morning. :( She'll get back to California on Wednesday. I'm gonna
miss her-I feel like I don't know how to do missionary work without her. haha
But you know it's time to change when things start getting
comfortable...Heavenly Father doesn't like us to be comfortable. What good
would that do? :) Anyway, the news you're all just dying to hear (I'm
sure ha)....I'm staying in LIMERICK!!!!! I'm so happy about this. I
think I could stay in Limerick the whole time and be good. And my new
companion is Sister Petman! I don't know her but everyone says she is
amazing. And she's from England!
We had a really good week. I'll tell you a cool story:
On Friday we were just walking down the street trying to talk to people.
We came upon this guy, Tomas, in his 20's? and he was just being loud and
crazy and whatever. I didn't really think about it but we went up to talk
to him (didn't realize the can in his hand was a beer...ha)....but we talked to
him for a long. He asked a lot of questions and kind of went off on us
for a while...we talked a lot about Jesus Christ. It was so interesting
and so great to see him change in that short amount of time though. At
first he was annoyed with us and argued with us, but slowly he started to
listen and something in his eyes changed. He almost cried when he told us
about the hard time he was going through. He even said God was up to
something putting us on the same street that day. Well, we gave him a
Book of Mormon and he said he'd read it. As we walked away he yelled at
everybody on that street, "These are two good people!!!"
Everyone looked at us like we were crazy (more than usual) haha.
And we walked away thinking we can't wait till we get to heaven to see
what happened to him. Well, we didn't have to wait that long! We
got a bus to Dublin last night. We had been on for about half an hour
when we see Tomas get on!!! We got so excited and we went up and sat by
him. We talked to him (along with Elder Turner who was with us) until
Dublin. He is so good. He had a million genuine questions and he
wants to make a change in his life and I'm so grateful Heavenly Father put us
both on that bus. (not a coincidence!) Anyway, the Dublin sisters are
going to try by his house and we'll see! We were at the bus station all
waiting for our rides and he was like, "Here I am...just hanging out with
the mormons!" It's so funny because he is the
musician/rocker/artistic kinda guy. I can't wait to see what comes of it.
Miracles happen everyday. We just have to look for
them and recognize them. Our district leader calls us every night to hear
about a miracle. It's good because it makes me think about it and realize
there are...no matter how small. You should do the same...pretend your
district leader is going to call you every night. :)
